Do you pay attention to animal signs? Lately, there have been a number of sign involving birds of prey. The other day my wife an i were relaxing in the dojo when suddenly a friend dropped by for a minute. It's always good to have the proper tools handy and ready to go. I can't tell how long it seemed to take to reach the few inches to my camera...

BART - Bay Area Rapid Transit

Here's a short (4 min) excursion down into one of San Francisco's subway systems, BART. The Bay Area Rapid Transit system connects much of the Bay Area and is probably the best way to get into the city from the airports.

A Hummer wagon for a dog?

I caught this in the rain the other day. A couple had pulled their dog in a little hummer like cart or wagon, complete with flashing tail-light (no pun intended).

Ok, so it's like Ojai, California. You know? What can I say?

Wal-Mart Documentary

Ryanne Hodson sent me an email about a local showing of the Wal-Mart documentary that was taking place in one of my neighbors home. I had just heard about the documentary on a vlog and so my wife and I had wanted to see it. Ryanne is in NYC, but she connected me to a network of great people here in my own small town. How cool is that. Thanks Ryanne and thanks Kris! Kris is a chiropractor and he and his wife kindly hosted the screening for about 30 people. We got into a great conversation about the film, the local community and the role of a local establishment and community focal point: The Farmer and the Cook. They even have their own Yahoo group (like videobloggers)!

Leah Meyerhoff's Film Twitch at the Ojai Film Festival

I was at the Ojai Film Festival to participate in a panel discusion on "Distribution in the Digital Age". Just as we were all finishing up and walking out of the auditorium, this young lady came up to us promoting her filmand I asked her to describe it for us on camera.

Cinematography Assignment #1

Chris Nolan is taking a cinematography class and posting the assignments so others can particpate. Here's my first. Twenty 10 second shots with no moving the camera Just like good old photography days. Natural light. Good way to learn more about my camera and remember those old lessons. Fun stuff. Thanks Chris!
